A few years back, a study conducted in China revealed that there was a direct connection between increased air pollution and reduced life expectancy. The study also evaluated the concentration of PM10 particulate matter in the air between the years 2003 and 2010. The study revealed that between these years, there was a significant reduction in the particulate matter and a subsequent increase in the life expectancy by 0.83 of people in the same areas of China. The connection was thus clearly established.
