Emmerdale star Leah Bracknell who played Zoe Tate is suffering from a horrible Disease, Needs urgent treatment
Hope is still in sight for former Emmerdale star Leah Bracknell as she struggles with terminal lung cancer. The 50 year old has managed to collect the target amount of £ 50,000 required for her immunotherapy treatment in Germany.
A last minute bid by the entire cast of Emmerdale has helped Leah reach the amount which till a few days back was still at £40,000. With the amount now raised for treatment, Bracknell has a fighting chance against the disease.
1 Diagnosed with lung cancer just six weeks ago
Leah Bracknell who played Zoe Tate in Emmerdale from 1989 to 2005 was diagnosed with the fatal life threatening lung cancer just six weeks ago. She was on the verge of returning to the comedy show for a second run. Till she had been diagnosed with the disease, she was healthy and even taught Yoga. But suddenly her world crashed.
Incidentally, Bracknell is also a mother of two children.
It was heartwarming to know that fans responded positively to her cry for help. By 10th Oct she had collected £40,000 receiving almost £2000 form a single anonymous donor. The star vowed that she will not give up her fight against the disease and would not feel sorry for herself. ‘Do NOT imagine me sitting here writing through a veil of tears. I am not. Or feeling sorry for myself. I am not (yet)”. ‘My priority is getting well and strong, so that I can continue to endeavour to be a good, mother, daughter, wife, or at least the best I can”.
