Rebekah Miles, 21, is a student at George Fox University in Oregon, who has been suffering from depression for 20 years. After being diagnosed with depression, she decided to get her thigh inked with a curly scripted phrase that says, “I’m Fine” to start a conversation about depression.
She has been suffering from depression for many years but did not know how to tell people about her sickness. Now, she uses her tattoo as a declaration; telling the world to start a conversation about depression. Her tattoo is inspired by a series of ads by the Samaritans of Singapore and contains a hidden message. The tattoo portrays two messages depending on how it is viewed.
